A font does not appear in a design app
Check that TypeShelf reports it as active and is still open. Use a desktop TTF, OTF or TTC file. Some design apps cache font menus: reopen the document or restart that app while TypeShelf stays open. Typeface naming and supported formats differ between app versions.
An app rule does not run
Enable Watch design applications in Settings and enable the rule. Bring the design app to the foreground. Check its executable name in Task Manager and enter a custom name if it differs from the preset. Affinity presets include common v1/v2 names and a separate unified-app preset.
An import reports an error
Check the import report for the file and reason. Files larger than 128 MB, damaged fonts and unsupported containers are skipped. For unreadable web fonts, use the TTF or OTF version. If a managed copy is missing, reimport the original.
Where your files are stored
Open Settings & about, then Open library folder. Store builds use application-local data; portable builds use your local WD DIGI/TypeShelf folder. Removing an imported font leaves its original untouched.
Temporary font cleanup
Closing TypeShelf removes temporary fonts it activated. A companion attempts cleanup after an unexpected exit. If Windows ends both processes or a font remains cached, sign out to clear session fonts. Fonts you explicitly install permanently stay installed.
Installing and uninstalling
Use Manage this font to install an imported desktop font for your Windows user. Uninstalling a per-user font requires confirmation and keeps a library copy. Close design apps first. A font registered system-wide or protected by Windows is managed in Windows Fonts settings. Operations on a TTC file affect all faces in it.
Before sending a report
Import reports contain local paths. Check them before sharing. Do not attach commercial font files unless your license permits it. TypeShelf does not send reports automatically.
